UNITED NATIONS, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Security Council on Friday strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, calling for accountability and international cooperation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to reports, at least 26 tourists were killed and several others wounded on Tuesday after unknown gunmen fired at them in the Indian-controlled Kashmir.

They reaffirmed that "terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security."
The council members underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice, stressed that those responsible for these killings should be held accountable, and urged all states to cooperate actively with all relevant authorities.
They reaffirmed the need for states to "combat by all means" threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts, in accordance with the UN Charter and other obligations under international law. ■
